What lives on your device
Kombiner stores the following locally, in a database file on your machine:
- Your music library — track metadata, artwork URLs, enrichment results
- Plugin configurations and any API keys or tokens you've entered
- App settings and preferences
- Playlists and import history
None of this is uploaded to our servers. It lives on your disk and nowhere else unless you explicitly move it.
What our servers actually see
When you download the app or check for updates, your
computer connects to our update server (ums.kombiner.app). That request includes your IP address and the version
you're currently running — the same information any standard
HTTP request carries. We use this to serve you the right
download. We don't build profiles from it.
If you submitted your email via our early-access or waitlist form, we store it to send you product news. That's it — no spam, no reselling, no handing it off to anyone else.
Plugins and external services
Kombiner connects to services like Spotify, SoundCloud, and Beatport through plugins. When a plugin runs, it talks directly from your computer to that service's API — your requests don't pass through our infrastructure. Your API keys and tokens are stored locally and we never see them.
Community plugins (ones not built by us) operate under the same permission model, but we don't audit their code. Only grant a plugin the permissions it actually needs, and only install plugins you trust.
Analytics
The app itself has no analytics or crash reporting built in right now. This website may use basic, privacy-respecting analytics to understand traffic patterns (page views, referrers — no fingerprinting, no ad tracking).
Payment data
Kombiner's Pro subscription payments are processed by Tpay LLC (I/N: 402291220), a TBC Bank Group company. We do not store your card number, CVV, or full payment details — those are handled exclusively by Tpay in their PCI DSS–compliant environment.
At checkout, Tpay may collect your cardholder name, billing address, phone number, and email address for payment processing and fraud prevention. This data is retained for a minimum of 6 months as required by applicable payment regulation, and may be processed in Georgia, Germany, and international payment-system locations. See our Payment Policy for full details.
Cookies
The Kombiner website doesn't use tracking cookies. Any cookies set are functional — for example, remembering a UI preference. We don't run advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
Children's privacy
Kombiner is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under that age. If you believe a child has submitted their email to us, reach out and we'll remove it.
Your rights
If you've given us your email, you can ask us to delete it at any time — just send a message. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (GDPR, CCPA, etc.). We'll honor reasonable requests.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. For anything significant, we'll let early-access subscribers know by email. Small wording tweaks won't get a formal announcement.
